While most motorcycle owners never have to worry about it, losing your keys can be a horrible situation. Broken Keys and Damaged Transponder Chips

Sometimes, a chipped or broken motorcycle key might mean you aren’t able to ride your bike. Many newer models use keys with transponder chips in the head of the key, and if that little transponder chip gets badly damaged you won’t be able to start your bike. A transponder is a radio signal that’s emitted by your key to your bike to let the vehicle know that you have the proper security authorization to use the vehicle, and when this stops functioning properly, you’re outta luck. But luckily for you, we can cut and program new transponder keys on-site using the equipment in our locksmith van.

Repairing Ignition Problems

Another common problem you can run into is a damaged ignition lock. If your motorcycle is an older model the ignition lock can wear out from many decades of use and your key won’t turn. Your key could also get stuck in it or even break off, and sometimes the wiring in the ignition can go bad. But since we have quite a bit of experience in these matters, it usually only takes one appointment to diagnose and repair the problem.
